There's no room other than your lap or under the seat in front of you to store your belongings, so a heads up on that. Eventually, the guide came over the PA system and said they were looking at an electrical issue but couldn't say much more at that time. As soon as we pulled over, it would've been considerate to all the passengers to let them know what was going on. On the way back, our bus broke down on the side of the highway, but we sat there for a good 5 minutes before a passenger went outside to ask what was going on because neither the guide or driver told us what was happening! We just sat there getting hot since the AC was turned off, in the pitch dark, with cars ripping by and honking since we weren't even fully pulled over so we were still sitting partly on the freeway, yeesh. The bus stopped at a restaurant called Evelyn's on the way down for breakfast and they sent us out back around the building to a makeshift bathroom and this place also didn't have hand sanitizer or a sink to wash your hands in! What is with this, it's disgusting! On the drive back at the end of the day there was no longer any toilet paper in the bathroom and it reeked of urine so strongly it made my eyes water! The bathroom on board didn't have a hand sink or any hand sanitizer which is super gross because then you can't clean your hands after doing your business. Which I did not do, and at the beginning the bus has to make a ton of turns to get to all the pick up spots around Miami Beach and Miami before getting on the straight stretch. It was a huge double decker bus which was cool, but if you get motion sick like I do, try to sit downstairs and near the front of the bus to avoid getting nauseous. The bus picked us up 10 min later than we were told to expect it, which was fine, but I did get a little panicky since we were told a specific pickup time, so don't panic like I did, they're prob just behind schedule. I would return to Bimini in a heartbeat but next time I would fly!įirst off, you should definitely visit Key West because it was awesome! Whether you take this bus down there or get there another way, just get there! It's really cool and unique. It was small but had a very good variety of machines and card tables. We visited the Casino next to the Hilton and made our donation. (we were not in for another walk) They said the water was a brilliant blue and the sand was soft! We were with our kids and grandkids and they enjoyed the beach there as well. We continued with the rum based cocktails there and so enjoyed the rest of the afternoon. The pool at the Hilton Resort was soooo very refreshing after our walk! Margaret was our server at the pool and she was such a sweetheart. Everyone smiled and talked a little and next thing you know he whistled to passer by on a cart that lives on the island and asked for a ride for us and the gentleman did so with a smile and wouldn't take a tip.The conch salad was Delish! (the knock out rum punch was also a hit) So, fine the walk began and we had been walking about 3 maybe 4 blocks and came to a spot where a security guard stops traffic. We wanted to visits Stewarts Conch Shack and had to walk. We were told that there would be golf carts we could rent to travel around the island. We were only on the island from 11am to 6pm, so every minute mattered to us. Another thing was they took more people back to Miami then they had seats for. Upon arriving back in Miami it took about 2 hours to get off the ferry and unfortunately the last two people off were on our bus. I don't know if it was US customs or the FRS ferry that caused the hold ups but we did not get out until being held back for 50 minutes longer than we were told. If I was the person held up I would have been very happy to see the bus there for me when I finally got off. At the end of the day the bus driver waited for every single person to get on the bus before leaving. They were on time and even went in a circle to go back and pick up a customer that was not out front to be picked up the first time the driver came around. The Greyline Bus that transported us to and from the ferry was wonderful.
